Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Chantilly, VA seeks an Engineering Field Technician to support field observations at existing facilities and to perform diverse building-science tasks across roofing, waterproofing, fireproofing, EIFS, and related testing.

You will collaborate with site contractors and project managers, while pursuing an engineering-related degree and meeting physical lifting requirements, as needed on the job site.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related field
• Interest in building forensics, mechanical systems, and structures
• Ability to lift 40–70 lbs several times daily or up to 85 lbs occasionally

Responsibilities

• Interacting and communicating effectively with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related degree
• Interest in building forensics, mechanical systems, and structures
• Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
• Must be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - mileage will be reimbursed

The expected pay range for this role and location is $18-$20/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
