Job summary

Santa Cruz METRO is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead the facilities and infrastructure maintenance programs, including safety, asset management, and environmental compliance. The role oversees preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance across buildings, yards, and related systems, and directs contract management with vendors and consultants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 8+ years in facilities maintenance or related field, incl. 4+ years supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or professional certification may substitute for up to 2 years non-supervisory experience; degree desirable.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations; experience with TAM/FTA programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate facilities and infrastructure maintenance programs.
• Develop and manage contracts with vendors and consultants to ensure safety, quality, and performance.
• Oversee budgeting, procurement, and project management for facilities upgrades and repairs.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to support operational needs and compliance.
