The City of Portland is seeking a Facilities Guest Services Staff member to join the team.
This full-time role supports safety, security, and visitor services at City Hall, including greeting guests, directing them to departments, and monitoring activity inside and outside the building.
Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week

Our Guest Services team (3-4 at all times) is responsible for safety and security duties at City Hall, checking in guests using City appointment software and handing out relevant forms to guests as necessary. This position also notifies departments of incoming visitors and deliveries and is responsible for detecting suspicious activity, preventing vandalism, thefts and other malicious behavior. This position will open and secure City Hall on a daily basis, place outdoor signage at visitor points of entry, retrieve signage at the end of each shift. In addition, the Facilities Guest Services Team will greet customers with respect and a positive attitude, provide general assistance to customers with questions, guide customers to the proper department or website and direct customers to public restrooms. This position will also monitor suspicious behavior and alert appropriate authorities if a concern is encountered, perform periodic walk-throughs of the building and monitor activity outside of the building as needed, and will maintain a daily log. Guest Services Personnel also monitor and assist during after hours meetings including City Council meetings. Assists with some Election Operations.
This is a Full-Time position, 37.5 hours/week, standard hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
This is a union position, CEBA Grade 8, with a starting pay range of $21.82 - $24.54 per hour, based on relevant years of experience.
