Job summary

The State of Wyoming is seeking a Grounds worker to maintain exterior spaces at state facilities. You will mow, trim, prune, and care for trees and plantings, and assist with snow removal in winter across state properties.

You’ll help with events, furniture moves, and recycling duties while supporting safe, clean, and welcoming grounds year-round. This role involves opening buildings, adjusting grounds setups for daily operations, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and PPE

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma.
• Experience: 0-2 years in Building and Grounds at Custodian level.
• OR substitution: 1-3 years in Building and Grounds at Custodian level.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None.

Responsibilities

• Provide turf and landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, aeration, and planting.
• Maintain parking lots, sidewalks, and entries with hand/power tools and equipment.
• Repair and install outdoor furnishings such as benches, signage, and trash receptacles.
• On-call for snow removal across state-owned lots and sidewalks using snow equipment.
• Assist with conference room setups and event support, including AV equipment.
• Open/prepare buildings, set up grounds for the workday, and report issues.
• Assist with irrigation, weed, and pest duties as assigned.
• Perform general building and grounds repair tasks as needed.
