Job summary

Perrysburg School District is seeking a 7.12 Maintenance/Grounds Specialist II to maintain the school plant, buildings, facilities and grounds. You will be responsible for the care, condition, appearance, repair or replacement of physical equipment, buildings, facilities and grounds as assigned, reporting to the Executive Director of Business Operations.

The role is full-time, non-exempt, with a rate of $20.48 per hour for a 260-day contract.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Clear criminal record with BCII and FBI checks.
• Self-directed and quick to learn.
• At least two years in maintenance operations of physical plant.
• Proficiency with computer technology.
• Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation.
• Conscientious and responsible for own work.
• Good health and attendance.
• Desire to aid students and participate in growth.

Responsibilities

• Take initiative to perform tasks independently.
• Uphold board policies and procedures.
• Promote a positive image and community partnerships.
• Avoid disrupting activities except in emergencies.
• Follow safety procedures for chemical and hazard cleanup and training.
• Comply with safety and environmental laws.
• Perform grounds keeping and prep equipment for storage.
• Remove snow, ice and debris as directed; snow crew member.
• Deliver equipment, materials and supplies as directed.
• Inspect safety equipment (lights, alarms, GFCIs) as directed.
• Protect district property; act during adverse weather.
• Follow crisis plan in emergencies.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development.
• Accept responsibility for decisions and conduct.
• Wear appropriate work attire and maintain neat appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
