Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a semi-skilled general labor worker to support landscaping, maintenance, and repair across county facilities. You will operate equipment, maintain grounds, and assist with furniture assembly and other trades tasks.

Requirements include one year of related experience, a Utah driver’s license (and later County vehicle license within six months), and a drug test. This is a physically demanding on-site role with shifting schedules.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in delivery, custodial, grounds, or construction maintenance.
• A valid Utah driver's license must be present at hire and a county license within six months.
• UDOT Medical Card may be required; CDL within six months in some departments.
• Must pass a mandatory drug test before starting; random testing may occur.

Responsibilities

• Transports and operates light, medium, and heavy-duty equipment.
• Maintains facility service vehicles and custodial/grounds equipment.
• Maintains and operates facility grounds, including lawn care, sprinklers, and planting.
• Maintains and uses hand and power tools; performs routine maintenance.
• Prepares records and reports; tracks work requests and safety records.
• Assists with loading/unloading dock deliveries and other trades tasks.
• Keeps alert for safety or security issues; reports concerns promptly.
• Assembles/disassembles, relocates, and repairs office furniture and partitions.
• Changes exterior lights and parking lot lights; handles lighting and roof maintenance.
