Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a motivated Facilities/Grounds Worker to support landscaping, maintenance, and repair of county facilities and equipment. The role requires physical labor, operation of various equipment, and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include grounds upkeep, loading/unloading deliveries, and assisting trades personnel. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of related experience, a Utah driver’s license (or obtain within 6 months), and the ability to pass a

Qualifications

• One (1) year of closely related experience in delivery service, custodial, grounds, or construction maintenance.
• A valid Driver’s License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire; Utah license must be obtained within six months.
• Some Departments may require a current Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Medical Card or CDL within six months.
• Must pass a mandatory drug test before starting; may be subject to random alcohol and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Transports and operates light, medium, and heavy-duty equipment.
• Operates and maintains facility service vehicles and grounds equipment.
• Maintains grounds: mowing, weeding, irrigation, fertilizing, landscaping, snow removal.
• Maintains and uses hand and power tools; records work requests and maintenance.
