Job summary

The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Maintenance/Grounds Technician to join our facilities department. Reporting to the Campus Supervisor, the Maintenance/Grounds Technician will oversee the upkeep of the grounds and facilities and perform a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and painting.

The role requires a safety-focused, team-oriented professional.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
OSHA 10 certification required or must be obtained.
Comfortable working with technology.
Self-directed, solution oriented, and works well with teams.
Able to multi-task with attention to detail.
Valid Florida driver’s license; CDL preferred.
Pesticide use and storage certification preferred.
CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred; will be provided if needed.

Responsibilities

Oversee upkeep of the grounds and facilities.
Inspect campuses for safety and aesthetics; recommend long-term solutions.
Perform maintenance and repair across carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry and painting tasks.
Repair and treat structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets; adjust doors, cabinets, desks, and closets as needed.
