Job summary

Orono Public Schools is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Grounds to keep district facilities and turf in top condition. You will lead on-site crews, coordinate field setups, irrigation, snow removal, and occasional indoor work as needed.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, preventive maintenance, and collaboration with the Coordinator of Buildings and Grounds to deliver projects efficiently. Excellent teamwork and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• 2-3 years of ground maintenance experience.
• Supervisory, crew lead, or project management experience preferred.
• Valid MN Class D Driver's License and basic computer literacy.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safe operation of power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, mentor, and organize day-to-day work for on-site grounds crews and seasonal staff.
• Maintain turf, trees, irrigation, parking lots, sidewalks, and athletic facilities.
• Inspect, service, and repair grounds equipment and vehicles.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and inventory; monitor contractors.
• Coordinate grounds projects with the Coordinator of Buildings and Grounds.
