Job summary

Milwaukee County Facilities Management is seeking a Facilities Grounds Worker II to maintain the appearance, safety and functionality of facilities and grounds, including operating CDL vehicles with airbrakes and heavy equipment. The role supports snow removal and routine maintenance across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have a CDL Class B with air brake endorsement and at least 1 year in groundskeeping or facilities maintenance; willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and be on call

Qualifications

• Must have Wisconsin residency.
• CDL Class B with air brake endorsement required.
• 1+ year(s) groundskeeping/facilities maintenance experience.
• Basic computer skills (word processing/sl spreadsheets).
• Willingness to work any shift and be on call for emergencies.
• Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 150 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including CDL vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Use electronic work orders and conduct regular facility inspections; report issues.
• Mow, trim, and clean grounds; operate snow removal equipment and loaders.
• Train or guide junior staff; assist with special projects, events, or emergencies.
• Maintain safe work areas and comply with DOT regulations and safety requirements.
