Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) NASL seeks a grounds and maintenance worker to perform heavy labor across grounds, facilities, and rental operations. Responsibilities include operating mowers, power washers, trailers, and hand tools to maintain recreation spaces and rental equipment.

The role requires safe operation of equipment, adherence to safety rules, and willingness to perform repairs or setup tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge of safe and efficient operating techniques of various large equipment and power tools.
Ability to operate and control riding mowers on slopes.
Ability to operate equipment around buildings, walls and obstacles.
Ability to operate controls and levers to maneuver equipment and devices.
Knowledge and skill using hand tools (shovels, rakes, hammers, bars, saws, etc.).
Ability to follow detailed instructions and sequences in tasks.
Ability to read simple drawings or follow general instructions.

Responsibilities

Loads and unloads materials from ground, pallets, and transport vehicles.
Operates power equipment such as mowers, blowers, power washers, and belt equipment.
Maintains and cleans facilities and grounds using hand tools.
Moves and organizes equipment, supplies, and materials by hand or mechanically.
Clears debris and maintains recreation spaces (playgrounds, courts, beaches).
Cleans and waxes vehicles and maintains tool/equipment inventory.
Performs minor repairs, painting, and carpentry as needed.
