Job summary

Naval Station Mayport in Florida seeks a grounds maintenance worker to keep MWR grounds safe and attractive. You will operate tractors and related equipment to cut, seed, mulch, and maintain turf and pathways.

Responsibilities include field preparation for events, minor irrigation checks, and assisting with general maintenance. Must follow safety protocols and government employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience operating gas/diesel tractors and associated equipment.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of turf conditions and grounds maintenance best practices.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and attached equipment to maintain MWR grounds and medians.
• Mow, edge, fertilize, seed, and perform basic turf maintenance.
• Inspect irrigation and perform minor repairs; report major issues.
• Prepare fields and grounds for events and activities as directed.
• Assist with general facility maintenance tasks as needed.
