Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a reliable Custodian for evening shifts to perform custodial duties, minor maintenance, and security checks across Salt Lake County facilities. The role supports safe, clean environments and requires a valid Utah driver’s license and background screening.

Primary responsibilities include daily cleaning, equipment maintenance, and coordinating setup of room furniture, with opportunities for growth within Facilities Management.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months custodial work experience or other related field.
• Valid Driver’s License accepted by the State of Utah at time of hire; must obtain Utah license within 6 months.
• Background check through fingerprinting and RAP Back program as per County policy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily custodial tasks including cleaning facility and equipment.
• Arranges, sets up and takes down facility tables and chairs.
• Performs cleaning, maintenance and minor repairs on cleaning equipment.
• Performs minor plumbing and electrical maintenance and repair.
• Maintains and cleans building entrances; assists with grounds maintenance including snow/ice removal.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and orders as needed.
• Conducts security checks of grounds and buildings; secures facilities.
