Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Maintenance Laborer to perform upkeep of the maintenance facility grounds and assist in various lines of business as needed. Responsibilities include cleaning, tool operation, minor repairs, and safe handling of materials.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, a self-starter attitude, and a safety-focused mindset. CDL driving experience is preferred and reading/speaking English is required. Night and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Safety-focused mindset.
• Experience with various hand tools and equipment is preferred.
• Previous CDL driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility grounds and surrounding areas including shop cleaning and general housekeeping.
• Operate hand-held, electrical, and gas-powered tools and equipment.
• Ensure safe operating condition of equipment and tools.
• Pressure-wash and perform minor repairs to shop tools, bins, and containers.
• Assist with general housekeeping of maintenance shops and offices.
• Clean, prepare, and paint containers as needed.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Support other lines of business, projects, or areas as needed.
