Job summary

Gordon State College in Barnesville, GA seeks a General Laborer - Facilities to support the Facilities department by performing general labor and assisting with event setup, building care and appearance, event preparation and other operational needs.

The role also serves as a backup to the Contracts and Event Manager to help ensure the successful execution of campus events. This is a non-exempt hourly position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Backup to the Contracts and Event Setup Manager.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of campus events, including tents, tables, chairs, signage, and staging.
• Move furniture, equipment, and materials safely as needed.
• Carry, deliver facilities, and transport facilities-related equipment or supplies.
• Install temporary signage across campus as needed.
• Perform custodial and housekeeping duties and maintain designated areas.
• Perform outdoor maintenance tasks and manage debris and trash.
• Assist with basic building and equipment maintenance.
• Request, load, unload, stock, and organize supplies.
• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns to supervisor.
• Operate department vehicles as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
