Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of campus events, including tents, tables, chairs, signage, and staging.
  • Move furniture, equipment, and materials safely as needed.
  • Carry, deliver facilities, and transport facilities-related equipment or supplies.
  • Install temporary traffic and informational signage across campus as needed.
  • Perform general custodial and housekeeping duties, including dusting and wiping furniture and fixtures, cleaning spills and broken glass, and maintaining other designated areas as assigned.
  • Perform general outdoor maintenance duties, including removing debris and weeds, watering flowers, picking up trash, and emptying and cleaning trash receptacles.
  • Assist with basic building and equipment maintenance
  • Request, load, unload, stock, and organize supplies and storage areas.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and other needs to Director or supervisor.
  • Operate department vehicles as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This position supports the Facilities department by performing general labor and assisting with event setup, building care and appearance, event preparation and other operational needs.

  • The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and utilizes the sense of smell.
  • The work is typically performed in an office or stockroom, in a variety of university buildings, and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, or irritating chemicals. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.

Salary: $14.00/hr.

This is a part-time non-exempt (hourly paid) position and does not include benefits.
