Job summary

Gordon State College is seeking a Part Time General Laborer for the Facilities department to assist with event setup, cleaning, and building maintenance on the Gordon State College campus.

The role involves hands-on labor, setup/breakdown of events, and basic maintenance tasks. Salary is $14.00 per hour; this is a part-time non-exempt position without benefits. Background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of campus events, including tents, tables, chairs, signage, and staging.
• Move furniture, equipment, and materials safely as needed.
• Carry, deliver facilities, and transport facilities-related equipment or supplies.
• Install temporary traffic and informational signage across campus as needed.
• Perform general custodial and housekeeping duties, including dusting and wiping furniture and fixtures, cleaning spills and broken glass, and maintaining other designated areas as assigned.
• Perform general outdoor maintenance duties, including removing debris and weeds, watering flowers, picking up trash, and emptying and cleaning trash receptacles.
• Assist with basic building and equipment maintenance
• Request, load, unload, stock, and organize supplies and storage areas.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and other needs to Director or supervisor.
• Operate department vehicles as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
