Job summary

City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department seeks a capable manager to oversee operations of multiple facilities, including planning and scheduling events, and administering sports programs and tournaments. You will supervise staff, maintain records, and coordinate for events and productions across venues.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related field with supervisory experience and a willingness to work varied hours, outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Business Administration, or a closely related field and one year of management experience in a sports facility.
• Six months of supervisory experience required.
• Willingness to work varied hours, outdoors, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule events across multiple facilities and venues.
• Oversee facilities maintenance of ballfields, buildings, and grounds through inspections and coordination.
• Administer sports programs and tournaments (high school to college levels).
• Supervise full- and part-time personnel; maintain records and reports.
• Plan and arrange events and productions requiring use of facilities and space.
