Job summary

Oklahoma City Community College is seeking a Building Service Student Assistant to support events, move furniture, and inspect safety equipment on campus. This student employee role works with the Building Service Specialist to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Current OCCC students enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (Fall/Spring) or 3 hours in Summer, or eligible for federal work-study, may apply. Work hours are around 25 per week, with some evenings and weekends possible.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to effectively use a variety of hand tools.
• Ability to read simple drawings and plans.

Responsibilities

• Assists in setting up and tearing down arrangements of tables, chairs and other requested resources for events.
• Performs or assists in monthly inspections of fire extinguishers and interior call boxes.
• Replaces overhead light bulbs.
• Cuts and replaces ceiling tiles.
• Performs repairs within capability.
• Inspects college safety equipment as described.
• Performs related work as required.
• Moves and sets up office or classroom furniture on an as-needed basis.
• Assists in the occasional repair of furniture.
