Job summary

Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn seeks a Facilities Engineer to support the Chief Engineer in safe, efficient operations and maintenance of mechanical systems. You will perform rounds, routine assessments, and day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance on MEPs while ensuring a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining HVAC operations, BMS, and related equipment; inspecting fire alarms and utilities; keeping CMMS records; and participating in health and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in building engineering with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and equipment maintenance.
• Experience in industrial, university, hospital, or similar buildings preferred.
• Detail-oriented, organized, able to manage multiple projects.
• Experience with FDNY, DOB codes and OSHA health & safety practices.
• Interest in the arts and proficiency with G Suite and Office tools.
• FDNY COF certifications required or obtained at company expense.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and repair work orders on mechanical, electrical and related systems.
• Operate and maintain HVAC, BMS, VRF, rooftop units, VAVs and pumps.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing for design compliance and safety.
• Maintain CMMS records and complete maintenance reports.
• Assist health and safety committee activities and incident investigations.
• Estimate time/materials for repairs and respond to emergencies as needed.
