Job summary

MBTA is seeking a currently enrolled engineering student to support data gathering, site visits, and data organization for asset types like sprinkler systems, standpipes, and pump rooms. You will work with engineers to analyze drawings, blueprints, and field data, and travel the MBTA system to collect information on facility-related systems.

Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, AutoCAD, and Adobe Acrobat is required.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in an accredited undergrad Bachelor’s program in an Engineering concentration.

Responsibilities

• Gather and organize information, locations, and pictures of asset types (sprinkler systems, standpipes, pump rooms).
• Work with engineers to analyze drawings, blueprints, data, and equipment systemwide.
• Travel MBTA system to collect information and data on facility-related systems.
• Organize data for ease of use using Excel and Google Sheets.
• Use AutoCAD to produce, alter, and analyze drawings.
• Audit and edit service contracts.
• Participate in meetings, fieldwork, and project teams.
• Provide courteous and professional service to internal and external customers.
• Perform additional responsibilities for specific departments or locations as assigned.
