Job summary

Neiman Marcus in Paramus, NJ seeks a Maintenance Technician to uphold and troubleshoot building systems within a luxury retail setting. You will maintain electrical, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and energy systems, and respond to after-hours calls as needed.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, parts orders, and support for capital projects, with collaboration across teams and vendors. A related degree and 2–5 years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Two to Five years experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field or four years apprenticeship.
• Background in building maintenance, electrical, and HVAC.
• Ability to multitask and self-prioritize work assignments.
• Able to work with others and independently as a self-starter.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Weekly preventive maintenance on building equipment and envelope with safety logs.
• Inspect facility equipment such as vertical transportation, boilers, generators, HVAC.
• Order maintenance supplies and assist in managing maintenance expenses.
• Assist in execution of capital planning projects.
• Coordinate energy management systems including lighting via Trane Ensemble.
• Support store systems such as POS and Telephone systems; assist kitchen equipment if needed.
