Job summary

CBRE Union Building Engineer in Seattle seeks a hands-on facilities professional to monitor and maintain the building's mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to repairs, and ensure operations meet safety and environmental standards.

You will work within the Engineering and Technical Services function, follow codes and company policies, manage energy use, and support safe, reliable building performance for tenants and clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience.
• Meet the physical requirements of the role including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing stairs.
• Understand procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
• Analyze solutions using technical experience and apply judgment.
• Advanced math skills for percentages, fractions, and financial calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Keep building systems compliant with applicable codes and standards.
• Maintain an energy management program for efficient operation.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal.
• Review inspections of building systems to ensure proper operation.
• Apply standard principles and techniques to accomplish tasks and solve problems.
