Job summary

CBRE seeks an experienced Building Engineer in Portland, OR to maintain and repair critical building systems for an academic health center. You will monitor mechanical, plumbing, electrical and life-safety facilities, ensuring safe, efficient operations and compliance with codes.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, energy management, and teamwork across multiple disciplines, with opportunities for growth and internal advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred.
• Meet physical requirements including lifting 50 lbs and climbing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to exercise judgment based on multiple information sources.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire and life safety systems.
• Ensure building systems meet applicable standards and safety requirements.
• Maintain an energy management program and improve system efficiency.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Follow safety, storage and disposal policies for hazardous materials.
• Review inspections of building systems such as fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing.
• Apply standards and procedures to accomplish complex tasks and provide solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and help achieve CBRE RI SE values.
• Impact a range of customer and operations activities within teams.
