Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain and repair building systems in Richmond. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, energy efficiency, and safety compliance across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems.

You will support a broad range of operations, apply technical knowledge, coach colleagues, and help ensure reliable facility performance for clients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
• Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Maintain an energy management program and ensure systems operate efficiently.
• Assist with preventive maintenance to meet or exceed rated life; perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow policies for storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean workplace.
• Review inspections of building systems to ensure operation within design parameters and client requirements.
• Apply in-depth knowledge to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across related job disciplines.
