Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain and repair building systems across essential facilities. You will manage plumbing, electrical, HVAC and safety controls to keep operations compliant and reliable.

You will drive energy efficiency, support preventive maintenance, and respond to emergencies as needed, ensuring safe, efficient environments for clients and staff. This role is on-site with CBRE’s standards and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of related experience.
• Must meet physical requirements (stooping, standing, walking, stairs, lifting 50 lbs).
• Ability to exercise judgment based on multiple information sources.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Good math skills for percentages, fractions, and related calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives related to building operations.
• Maintain an energy management program and optimize system efficiency.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs and perform emergency repairs when needed.
• Follow policies for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Review building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing for operation within design specs.
• Apply standard principles to complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across multiple disciplines.
• Lead by example and align with CBRE RISE values to reach consensus.
• Impact a range of customer and operational activities within teams.
• Work within broad guidelines and explain difficult or sensitive information.
