In this position...

Battery Manufacturing Engineering is a cross-functional team responsible for planning and implementing the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants and new powertrain and battery cell and assemblies at component plants. The Manufacturing Engineer will be part of this team, helping to build state-of-the-art smart vehicles. Our plants worldwide are constantly developing new technologies and processes to increase efficiency, seeking diligent and innovative performers to improve manufacturing methods.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Associate's Degree
  • 3+ years of industry experience in facilities, infrastructure, maintenance, or construction
  • Ability to support launch programs with extended travel
  • Strong project management and result-oriented skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, P6, AutoCAD, etc.) and CAD review abilities (Navisworks, Revit, VisMockup, CATIA, or similar)
  • Understanding of PFMEA and failure mode avoidance principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate under stress within tight timelines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collection, GD&T, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Ford software systems: AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, E2KS, AIM, Ariba

Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of building and facilities related to new programs, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and personnel development.
  • Lead installation of new process equipment and support facilities supporting manufacturing systems.
  • Coordinate architectural and engineering contracts to ensure compliance with Ford standards.
  • Ensure safety standards are met for all work sites and contractors.
  • Utilize 3D tools and BIM for design verification and safety planning.
  • Participate in cost studies and ensure program funding aligns with project needs.
  • Manage procurement, payments, and work orders related to construction and facilities.
  • Coordinate relocations and updates with plant management.
  • Provide project updates through various reporting systems.
  • Travel up to 75% to Tennessee sites, with options for other locations.
