Job summary

Addington Place of Prairie Village is seeking a Director of Facilities. This role leads daily maintenance and facility operations, ensuring safe, well-maintained environments for residents and staff.

You will manage a preventative program, supervise teams, oversee HVAC/plumbing/electrical systems, vendor contracts, and capital projects. You will monitor budgets, help with capital planning, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with life-safety regulations while supporting a

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Bachelor’s/Technical degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role.
• HVAC certification, licensure, or equivalent training preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire panels and emergency systems.
• Experience managing vendor contracts and capital projects.
• Proven ability to develop and implement preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily maintenance and facility operations to keep systems safe and functional.
• Develop and execute a preventative maintenance program per standards.
• Supervise maintenance staff and housekeeping/laundry/transportation where applicable.
• Ensure HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire panels, and emergency systems work reliably.
• Oversee vendor contracts, service agreements, and capital projects.
• Monitor budgets, expenses, and contribute to capital planning.
• Inspect apartments and units before new resident occupancy.
• Assist with renovations to maintain high-quality environments.
• Ensure compliance with life-safety and environmental regulations.
• Participate in Safety Committee and disaster preparedness.
• Prepare budgets, review variances, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Respond after-hours emergencies and on-call as required.
• Foster a service-first, resident-centered culture in operations.
