Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living in Chelmsford, MA seeks an experienced Maintenance Director to oversee maintenance and housekeeping for an assisted living facility. The role combines hands‑on trades (electrical, carpentry, HVAC) with administrative duties such as payroll, budgeting, and capital expenditures.

You will lead a team, coordinate repairs, ensure OSHA and fire code compliance, and maintain a safe, well‑kept environment for residents and staff. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing maintenance and housekeeping in a long‑term care or assisted living facility.
• Strong knowledge of life safety regulations and building codes.
• Hands‑on maintenance skills across electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
• Ability to supervise staff, payroll, and operating expenses.
• Excellent communication and coordination with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate repairs and alterations to buildings and equipment systems.
• Provide technical support, product information, research, and QA guidance.
• Establish and monitor a preventative maintenance program.
• Maintain OSHA and fire code compliance.
• Oversee maintenance and housekeeping staff and related expenditures.
• Lead the Director of Plant Operations with strong leadership skills.
• Maintain knowledge of building systems with emphasis on HVAC.
