Job summary

Discovery Commons Newark, part of Discovery Management Group, seeks a Director of Facilities to lead daily maintenance and operations for our Newark senior living community. You will manage HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, vendor contracts, and capital projects, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction.

This full-time role offers a base salary of $80k plus a 10% annual performance bonus, with on-call responsibilities and a traditional leadership schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role.
• HVAC certification or equivalent training preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire panels, and safety systems.
• Experience managing vendor contracts and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance and facility operations to ensure safety and reliability.
• Develop and execute a preventative maintenance program in compliance with standards.
• Supervise maintenance staff and ancillary teams (housekeeping, laundry, transportation) where applicable.
• Monitor budgets, expenses, and contribute to capital planning and cost controls.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
