Job summary

OPB is seeking a Facilities Director in Portland to lead day-to-day facilities operations, oversee a four-person team, and manage vendors and building systems. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, life-safety, and energy management, with at least five years in facilities or operations and two years of people leadership.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities, operations, building systems, or related field.
• Two (2) years of people leadership experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC systems, preventative maintenance and energy management.
• Experience managing projects, vendors, and competing priorities.
• Experience with zoning, accessibility, and safety compliance.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business systems.
• Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Enthusiasm for OPB’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day facilities operations and translate issues into clear scopes of work.
• Plan and manage facilities projects, including repairs, space changes, and lifecycle replacements.
• Coordinate work with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to minimize disruption.
• Lead a small facilities and services team and supervise 4 employees.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and accurate documentation across building systems.
