Job summary

The Lake Superior YMCA is seeking a Senior Building Services Director to oversee maintenance, safety, and facility operations across multiple locations in the Superior area. You will manage staff, coordinate preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• CPR, AED, First Aid certifications; must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Certified Pool Operator or obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, housekeeping, or related field.
• Working knowledge of cleaning and repair methods.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Ability to self-direct and prioritize among competing goals and to initiate process improvements.
• Experience with paint, cleaning equipment, chemicals, solvents, and related substances.
• Experience operating motorized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance staff across branch locations and ensure safety training.
• Coordinate facility and vehicle maintenance, including preventative plans.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA policies for all equipment and vehicles.
• Anticipate risks and outcomes before actions.
• Complete repairs and projects in a timely manner.
• Oversee contractors and review bids for facility work.
• Provide coverage for building services at other branches when needed.
