Job summary

Vance-Granville Community College seeks a facilities operations leader to supervise the Plant Operations Department at the Henderson, NC campus. You will manage building maintenance, grounds, custodial services, equipment, and energy efficiency programs while protecting assets and ensuring a safe, compliant campus environment.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in facilities management or related field with 3–5 years of experience, strong budgeting and contracting skills, and

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field with 3–5 years in facilities management operations.
• Experience in project and facility management scheduling; able to provide field direction to staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Valid NC Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs Plant Operations Department activities including maintenance, grounds, housekeeping, and custodial services.
• Oversee management of assets inventory and sale of surplus items.
• Estimate costs for repair projects and coordinate third-party contractors.
• Ensure HVAC systems are monitored and energy efficiency optimized.
• Maintain compliance with contract terms, quality standards, and timelines.
• Assist in budgeting and capital improvement planning.
• Trains and evaluates Plant Operations staff.
