Job summary

Catalent’s Winchester, KY site is a flagship manufacturing location for large-scale oral solid dose forms, with a 180,000-square-foot facility and full development and analytical support. The Manager, Facilities will lead the site’s facility and utility growth strategy, drive preventive/predictive maintenance, and oversee a 24/7 production team to maximize equipment availability and compliance.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of utility design and troubleshooting experience.
• Minimum 2 years managing and developing technical teams.
• Experience in Central Utilities including Water for Injection, Purified Water, Compressed Air, Nitrogen, Chilled Water, Steam, Heating Hot Water, Electricity, and Sewage.
• Experience managing external vendors.
• Project budgeting experience.
• Experience working in a regulated environment.
• Hands-on experience with process, controls, and equipment engineering.
• Leadership experience at Catalent or equivalent may count in place of external experience.
• Physical requirements: sit/stand/walk for extended periods; extensive computer use.

Responsibilities

• Provide facility support for a 24/7 operation, ensuring production efficiency and minimizing downtime.
• Define and manage utility systems reliability programs to maximize system availability cost-effectively.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high levels of customer support.
• Develop, maintain, and improve SOPs for maintenance programs to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
• Manage utility systems spare parts and documentation for inventory control.
• Oversee facility groundskeeping and housekeeping contracts.
• Manage repair, maintenance, and corrective work orders for utility systems.
• Monitor equipment reliability and technological developments.
• Develop and deliver KPIs for utility systems and site energy consumption.
• Implement actions to reduce MTTR and increase MTBF.
• Partner with Process Engineering to enhance equipment reliability and SOP adherence.
• Evaluate team performance and ensure staff training for production system support.
• Manage contractors and prioritize energy-saving initiatives.
• Identify and implement cost-saving actions for site services.
• Provide coaching and career development to staff.
• Ensure training compliance with GMP and company policies.
• Interview, evaluate, and counsel staff with HR.
• Interface with Manufacturing, Technical Services, Quality Control, Validation, and QA.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records per regulatory requirements.
• Manage occupational injury and illness cases and participate in Safety Committee.
