Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts preferred with 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience
  • Associate degree with 10+ years related experience and 3 years supervisory/managerial experience
  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent may be considered in place of external experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute alarm response processes, including off-hours responses to minimize drug product impact
  • Monitor campus safety conditions during extreme weather and emergencies
  • Directly manage assigned personnel including scheduling, coaching, and performance reviews
  • Oversee maintenance of buildings, equipment, HVAC, environmental monitoring, and emergency generators
  • Develop and administer Preventive Maintenance programs for facilities and systems
  • Supervise SOPs, safety policies, and regulatory compliance
  • Communicate facility issues promptly to all stakeholders
  • Regularly assess site needs for space, support systems, repairs, and cleaning

Job description

Catalent’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania site serves as the company’s North American Center of Excellence for clinical supply packaging, delivering comprehensive, end‑to‑end support for global clinical trials across multiple therapeutic modalities. The site provides integrated services including direct comparator sourcing, blinding and manufacturing, primary and secondary packaging, storage and distribution, and clinical returns management, enabling efficient and compliant trial execution. It also plays a growing role in supporting biologic as well as cell and gene therapy programs, with enhanced cold‑chain and cryogenic handling capabilities designed to meet the complex requirements of advanced therapies. As a critical hub within Catalent’s global clinical supply network, the Philadelphia site helps sponsors accelerate development timelines while maintaining the highest standards of quality, flexibility, and regulatory compliance.

Our Philadelphia site is located in the Bensalem/Northeast Philadelphia area.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Manager, Facilities to join our team. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Facilities and Facilities Department, including Business Continuity, 24-hour environmental control and monitoring, Preventative Maintenance, and Calibration. The position ensures compliance, operational stability, and maintenance of all areas and systems that support the site’s operations. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for our teams and clients.

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Location: Philadelphia, PA

100% Onsite

The Role
  • Develop, maintain, and execute processes for alarm response, including effective off-hours responses to alarms, emergencies, and critical events to minimize drug product impact
  • Monitor and maintain safe conditions across the campus during extreme weather conditions
  • Directly manage assigned personnel, including scheduling, coaching, directing, and performance appraisals
  • Oversee operations to repair and maintain buildings, equipment, and systems such as HVAC systems, environmental monitoring, and emergency generators
  • Develop and administer Preventive Maintenance programs for buildings, equipment, and support systems
  • Supervise and enforce Standard Operating Procedures, regulations, and safety policies
  • Ensure timely and thorough communication of Facilities-related issues to all stakeholders
  • Interface regularly with all levels of the organization to assess site needs for space, support systems, repairs, maintenance, or cleaning
  • All other duties as assigned
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is preferred with 5 years of experience in a related environment as a supervisor or manager OR Associate Degree with 10+ years of related experience and 3 years of experience as a supervisor or manager
  • On an average day, ability to stand up to five hours; walk up to three hours; sit up to eight hours; use hands to handle or feel up to eight hours; reach with hands and arms up to six hours; climb or balance up to one hour; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl up to one hour; talk or hear up to eight hours; taste or smell up to eight hours; lift up to 25lbs. pounds frequently; and clearly see and focus on objects and color at close and far distances with good depth perception
  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience
Preferred Skills & Background
  • Previous work experience in supporting the development and manufacturing, or packaging for clinical or commercial drug products or combination products
  • Previous experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice environment
  • Strong contractor and vendor management skills
