In-N-Out Burger in Irvine, CA is seeking a Facilities Development Design Manager to lead architectural design across non-store facilities, ensuring standards, consultant management, and functional planning. This is a full-time, in-office role guiding cross-functional teams to translate operational needs into robust design criteria.

You will oversee design quality, budgets, and external architects, while coordinating entitlements and project closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and CA registered Architect are required.
• 10+ years in architectural design and project management across commercial/industrial facilities are required.
• 5+ years in design management or leadership within a development or construction organization are required.
• 3+ years of experience with entitlements, permitting, and jurisdictional processes in California are preferred.
• 3+ years in food/bev or production facility design with hygienic design and GMP standards are required.
• NCARB and PMP or equivalents are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and steward design standards and basis of design for all facility types.
• Own the consultant relationships, scopes, budgets, and performance across projects.
• Define programming and space functionality in collaboration with operations and business leaders.
• Provide quality control across design deliverables and milestone reviews.
• Lead design and field reviews to protect design intent during construction.
• Support entitlement submissions and agency communications.
• Oversee closeout documents, records, and lessons learned.
• Direct the Assistant Project Design Manager and foster design excellence.
