Job summary

American Electric Power in Columbus/New Albany, Ohio is seeking an Architect to lead design and construction activities on complex projects. You will prepare bid documents, supervise projects through completion, and apply architectural knowledge safely and economically.

The role requires NAAB-accredited degree, 4+ years of experience, and US licensure with NCARB certification; Master’s degree preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from NAAB-accredited program.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in Architecture.
• License in any US state and NCARB certification.
• Master's degree in Architecture preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make technical decisions with supervision based on calculated risks with limited review.
• Identify, resolve, and initiate solutions to design-related problems.
• Assist in preparing and presenting designs clearly to senior management and stakeholders.
• Demonstrate team-building skills across AEP and partner organizations.
• Develop and implement plans to address project issues within design scope.
