Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a dedicated janitorial and maintenance professional to perform daily cleaning and general upkeep across assigned facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning offices, restrooms, classrooms, chapel, kitchen, and food pantry, plus vehicle fleet maintenance and room setup for programs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak and write the English language at a high and professional level.
• Minimum one year of building maintenance and/or janitorial service preferred.
• High degree of confidentiality.
• Able to endorse and promote The Salvation Army’s mission.
• Computer literate in Windows environment (Microsoft Office), Word, Excel and Outlook preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the family services and corps buildings including offices, restrooms, classrooms, chapel, kitchen and food pantry.
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle fleet.
• Maintain cleanliness of parking lot, lawns and walkways.
• Conduct minor facility and equipment repairs.
• Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and maintenance equipment.
• Setup and prepare rooms for program usage.
• Transport food donations and equipment/supplies as assigned.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly safety checks.
• Assist with seasonal projects including but not limited to food drives, toy drives, Red Kettles.
• Other duties as assigned.
