Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern CA Division is seeking a Janitor/Maintenance to support the Lafayette site, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents and staff while maintaining daily facility upkeep.

Responsibilities include floor care, general cleaning, equipment maintenance, landscaping as needed, and assisting with unit turnover. Requires High School or equivalent, a CA driver’s license, and at least one year in housekeeping and grounds maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid Class C California Driver’s License.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
• Minimum one-year experience in housekeeping and grounds maintenance.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• A driving record without any moving violation in the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment for residents and staff.
• Sweep and mop entry hallways daily; pressure wash entrances.
• Strip, buff and wax unit floors, kitchen and offices area as needed.
• Responsible for turning over vacant units; painting and minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain an inventory of janitorial/maintenance supplies.
• Report inappropriate behavior on the grounds to program manager.
• Provide maintenance/housekeeping for Community Integration Services Program.
