Job summary

Texas Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a Custodian to support our Facilities team. This role ensures assigned buildings are stocked with custodial supplies and maintained in a clean, orderly condition per the provided work schedule.

You will respond to unscheduled janitorial needs during normal business hours. Key responsibilities include restocking restroom and lab supplies, waste disposal, floor cleaning, wall/window washing, and spill/carpet spot cleaning as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of janitorial experience required. Two years janitorial experience in a medical, research or educational environment preferred.
• Experience using a floor buffer and stripping equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Restock hand towels, soap and toilet tissue dispensers in restrooms and designated laboratory areas.
• Empty trash and waste receptacles both indoors and outdoors.
• Sweep, mop, scrub and/or vacuum floors, walks and steps.
• Wash walls, doors, trim and windows both indoors and outdoors.
• Clean up spills and spot clean carpets and other special needs as may be required by staff.
