Job summary

The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is seeking a Custodian to join Facilities Management. The role includes disinfecting, cleaning offices and laboratories, restroom sanitation, trash and recycling removal, and floor care across campus facilities.

Minimum qualifications note that there are no strict education or experience requirements; preferred candidates may have custodial experience and familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures.
• Ability to operate a PC with general software understanding.
• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.
• Be able to understand chemical usage and application.
• Be able to use a backpack vacuum or upright vacuum.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, scrub, mop, wash, polish and wax floors and vacuum carpets.
• Dust, wash, and polish furniture and woodwork.
• Empty and clean waste receptacles.
• Wash and clean windows, walls, and chalkboards.
• Clean and maintain restrooms, shower and locker rooms, cafeterias, offices and related facilities.
• Sweep sidewalks, pick up papers and clean drinking fountains.
• Polish metal work.
• Replenish supplies and fill dispensers.
• Operate vacuums and floor cleaning/polishing machines.
• Deliver supplies between campus locations.
• Turn out lights and secure buildings.
