Job summary

Brookhaven National Laboratory, via Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC, is hiring a Custodian for the Integrated Facility Management Division. The role supports a safer, cleaner campus with standardized cleaning methods and EPA/Green Seal approved products.

You will work in a four-person team across Light Duty, Restroom, Vacuum, and Utility tasks. The position operates Monday–Friday, with two shift options, and reports to the IFM Custodial Services Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• One-year prior commercial cleaning experience in stripping and waxing floors, and carpet extracting.
• Good computer skills to support record keeping, email, training, facility management software.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, deliver, and restock custodial building supplies.
• Mop, vacuum with backpack vacuum, and buff various flooring types.
• Empty trash/recycling, dust, and clean surfaces including high-touch areas.
• Disinfect restrooms, fill dispensers, and manage waste in restrooms.
• Use timekeeping and training systems; maintain documentation.
• Follow safety policies and promote a safe work environment.
• Operate floor machines to strip/buff floors and extract carpets.
• Identify and report repairs or maintenance needs to management.
