Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Custodian to maintain clean, safe, and orderly school facilities. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and setup for events, with possible varied shifts during the school year.

Applicants should have at least 6 months of reliable work experience, basic arithmetic skills, and knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment. A Nevada driver’s license or ability to obtain one is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience demonstrating reliability, responsibility and good work habits.
• Reading, writing and basic arithmetic sufficient to perform job duties successfully.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods and equipment.
• License to drive with a valid State of Nevada license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax floors; clean surfaces and fixtures.
• Vacuum rugs and carpets; dust furniture and woodwork; clean walls and blackboards.
• Sanitize restrooms, locker rooms and showers; restock supplies.
• Washes windows and empties trash; moves furniture as needed.
• Set up rooms and auditoriums for meetings or events.
• Ensure doors/windows are locked and security lights on; report damages and needed repairs.
