Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a diligent Custodian to maintain clean, safe school facilities. Responsibilities include floor care, restrooms, event setup, minor maintenance, and security checks. Shifts may include early morning, afternoon or evening hours during the school year.

Requirements include basic reading/writing and arithmetic, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions. A Nevada driver’s license may be required. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience demonstrating reliability and good work habits.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of cleaning materials, methods and equipment.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain a Nevada driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, shampoos, and waxes floors and cleans furniture.
• Vacuuming, dusting, cleaning restrooms and windows.
• Set up rooms for meetings and events; move furniture as needed.
• Ensure doors/windows are locked and alarms set; report needed repairs.
• May perform minor maintenance such as changing lights or painting small areas.
• May assist with summer cleaning and restoration tasks.
