Job summary

Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space department is seeking a part-time custodial worker for facility cleaning and maintenance. The role may require non-traditional shift hours, including early morning, evening, or swing shifts, and on-call availability on evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a High School education or GED
• Professional cleaning experience helpful
• Hospitality industry experience helpful

Responsibilities

• Moves and arranges furniture and A/V equipment to set up rooms for meetings and special functions
• Cleaning and sanitizing of hard floors, under bleachers, facility restrooms, auditorium floors, seats, windows, fixtures, mirrors and carpets
• Empties trash and stocks supplies
• Operation of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, buffers and carpet extractors
• Removes litter and debris from facility walkways and grounds
• Supervision and securing of facility
• Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of work; drives City vehicles to work sites, transports materials and assists other staff as required
• Provides customer service
• Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with contractors, public and City staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment
