Job summary

Carson City Public Works Department is seeking a part-time custodian to perform facility cleaning and maintenance under general supervision. The position is not to exceed 1,039 hours per fiscal year (July 1–June 30) and includes swing shift hours from 4:30 p.m.

to 1:00 a.m., averaging 14–20 hours weekly. Responsibilities include moving furniture for meetings, cleaning hard floors and restrooms, operating cleaning equipment, and providing customer service.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a High School education or GED.
• Professional cleaning experience is helpful.
• Hospitality industry experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Move furniture and A/V equipment to set up rooms for meetings and special functions.
• Clean and sanitize floors, restrooms, auditorium floors, seats, windows, fixtures, mirrors and carpets; empty trash and stock supplies.
