Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma.
• Preferred: 2 years of college coursework.
• 5 years of experience in management and customer service.
• Preferred: 10+ years of experience in management and customer service.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License with a 3-year safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings to determine repairs or other work.
• Review subordinates' work in custodial and related activities.
• Requisition, receive, maintain, and distribute equipment, material, and supplies for custodial work; maintain inventory records.
• Develop appropriate daily work schedules for day and night custodial crews; monitor facility scheduling.
• Plan, organize, and supervise major facilities moves.
• Prepare periodic reports for work performed; use software to plan schedules, events, vacations, receive and distribute work orders; maintain a budget.
• Interview and recommend appointment of custodial employees.
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of vehicles, equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills; maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Build relationships with faculty and staff to manage customer satisfaction.
• Promote safety and conduct safety presentations; travel to all campuses to verify safety compliance.
• Conduct frequent compliance training; identify and resolve safety issues.
