Job summary

Amarillo ISD is looking for a dedicated Custodian to clean and maintain district facilities, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficient operation of buildings and grounds. You will support evening custodial staff and help manage daily cleaning tasks across assigned areas.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to follow safety procedures, and basic computer skills to handle time sheets, work orders, and supply orders. Starting pay is $13.48 per hour with full-time hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Custodial experience is helpful but not required.
• Must read and understand cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Basic math for chemical dilution and inventory management.
• Good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising evening custodial staff and daily duties.
• Work closely with district custodial staff and campus personnel.
• Maintain cleaning schedule for floors, restrooms, and classrooms.
• Keep buildings and grounds neat and safe; manage trash disposal.
• Organize facilities for special events.
• Open/close buildings with proper security procedures.
• Inspect machines and report safety issues.
