Job summary

Amarillo ISD is seeking a Custodian Supervisor to lead campus custodial staff in daily cleaning duties and to help ensure a clean, safe school environment. You will coordinate with district staff, maintain cleaning schedules, and oversee lunchroom setup and cafeteria sanitation.

The role requires leadership skills, ability to follow procedures, basic computer use, and knowledge of maintenance tasks. This is a full-time, on-site position at Amarillo ISD facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Leadership to supervise custodial staff and ensure tasks are completed.
• Read, understand, and follow cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for District software, timesheets, work orders, and supplies.
• Effective verbal and written communication with staff.
• Knowledge of minor repairs and building/grounds maintenance.
• Operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy loads.
• Understand math for proper chemical dilutions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all campus custodial staff in daily duties.
• Coordinate with District Custodial and campus staff.
• Maintain cleaning schedules for floors, chalkboards, restrooms, and furniture.
• Keep facilities neat—buildings, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, play areas.
• Ensure safe storage and disposal of trash.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; request replenishments.
• Assist with lunchroom setup and cafeteria cleaning during/after meals.
• Open/close building as required; verify doors and panic bolts are secure.
• Inspect machines/equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Follow safety procedures; report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with district policies and Educator Code of Ethics.
