Job summary

The Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a daily work crew leader to supervise maintenance tasks for school facilities. You will assign work, oversee lower level staff, and help with training and performance feedback.

Responsibilities include performing manual labor, maintaining facilities, coordinating with vendors, managing supplies, and ensuring safety for students and staff. This is a hands-on role requiring physical stamina and reliable driving in the district.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a crew leader to lower level staff, prioritizing and assigning work; monitoring performance; training staff; participating in evaluations.
• Performs manual labor such as trash disposal, material handling, sweeping, moving furniture, painting, and related tasks.
• Responds to internal requests and emergencies to ensure safety of students and staff.
• Monitors contracted cleaning companies to ensure standards.
• Maintains logs, forms, and communications within area of responsibility.
• Maintains facilities, vehicles, and equipment; performs routine repairs and manages inventory.
• Coordinates activities with external vendors for maintenance and custodial work.
• Processes shipping/receiving receipts, purchase orders, and bills of lading.
• Monitors supplies/inventory and recommends purchases.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
